David Paynter
Chief Executive Officer - Accountable Manager
David was appointed CEO at Brisbane Aero Engineers in 1999 and was allocated responsibility as the Accountable Manager in 2014. Working for over 30 years in the general aviation industry, he completed his Ground Engineering Apprenticeship in 1987. David has built and maintained strong relationships by meeting customers’ needs and providing the highest levels of service. This trust has been built on merit for delivery of high quality tested products and honest advice. He is highly regarded in the industry for his technical expertise regarding piston engines and components and has been called as an expert witness on numerous occasions, working closely with CASA and the ATSB. Holds NDT licenses in Magnetic and Dye Penetrant Inspection. Has completed the following Southpac Aerospace courses:
- Internal Auditing
- Human Factors
Member and active participant of several industry groups (AMROBA, AACofC). During the week David can be found cycling at day break around Brisbane. Enjoys kayaking at the weekends in Moreton Bay and also a keen Broncos supporter.
Angela Barlow
Quality & Safety Manager - Business Manager
After establishing a career in health services, Angela found a new vocation at Brisbane Aero Engineers in 2001. She was appointed the Quality & Safety Manager in 2013. Angela is approachable and driven to see our company succeed through implementing various management strategies including business development and improved customer outcomes. As Business Manager she takes responsibility and will challenge “is this the best way we can do what we do?” Has completed the following Southpac Aerospace courses:
- Safety Management Systems
- Human Factors
She regularly attends various industry and workplace seminars to keep abreast of the modern business environment. Angela is a keen Australian Test Cricket fan and enjoys caring for her vegie patch and chickens.
BAE Team Members
Our Deputy Quality & Safety Manager role supports and assists the role of QSM while the Customer Service Co-ordinator works with the CEO to provide timely communication and documentation. The Logistics Manager works closely with the Service & Support Manager to maintain a comprehensive Stores Department and provision of timely freight services. This ancillary team works to support our dedicated team of LAME, AME, apprentice and technical assistant production team members. Our Level III NDT Advisor provides compliance oversight for our NDT operations and an Internal Auditor is on staff.
